Nine passengers, including two tourists from Israel, sustained minor injuries after the omni-bus they were travelling in went off the road and turned turtle in a pit near Vedasandur in the early hours of Tuesday (December 16, 2025). Time of Accident: The incident happened around 4:45 a.m. when the passengers were asleep.

Cause of Accident: The bus driver, identified as Palanisami (49) from Salem district, lost control of the speeding bus while crossing Kottaiyur near Vedasandur, causing it to plunge into a roadside pit and overturn. One report also suggests the driver swerved left to avoid hitting a car, leading to the loss of control.

Injured Passengers: Out of a total of 17 passengers, nine sustained minor injuries.

The injured included two Israeli women tourists.

Medical Treatment:

All injured passengers received immediate care at the Government Hospital in Vedasandur.

The two Israeli tourists were later shifted to a private hospital for further treatment.

Two passengers from Bengaluru were referred to the Dindigul Government Medical College Hospital.
